NIS oddity

I have been setting up an NIS/NFS server which has been working fine until recently.

When ever the network is restart via either a reboot or service network restart the file yp.conf gets modified and my servers ip gets replaced with broadcast. This didn't used to happen but now happens on all the machines.

I have tried removing write access from the file yp.conf but it just gets replaced. Does anyone know how i can statically set the NIS server or why the yp.conf keeps getting replaced?

I have narrowed it down to changing when the dhcp kicks in.

Just typing dhclient causes it to change to broadcast. Any suggestions?

problem solved, when i set up my dhcp server i specified the NIS domain but did not specify any servers. This caused dhclient to rewrite the config files on all the machines to use broadcast.
