NIC issue

What can i do if my system detects a Realtek adapter when the true card according to my dell 8200 customer command is a Cnet200WL 10/100 fast ethernet with davicom chipset?!?!?

The dm9xs (davicom for kernel 2.4.xx) module won't load anyway

Helppppppppppppppppppppppppp

Try taking the covers off to see what is really there.

Actually, if realtek is detected, I would let it load the realtek drivers and see if it works.

OMG

Dell has lied to me!
I have opened my Dimension 8200 and at my surprise I can read RTL8139 on the NIC cpu
Arghhhhhhhhh when it is written on my mom customer command that the NIC is a Cnet200WL Fast Ethernet Card
I don't know the respective prices but it's bad from Dell

All other devices are the official ones at least...

And it explains why my system didn't detect anything else
Thx for the suggestion
BTW i have cleaned my air conditionned inside lol
it was full of dust
You won't believe me but now my computer makes hardly no noise
I hope they still work lol
we will see

Rectification

I made a mistake
Cnet Fast200 PCI ethernet adapter has a RTL8139 cpu
whereas the
Cnet Pro200WL PCI bus ethernet adapter has a davicom cpu

But something strange when i remove the card to check it i have seen 2 branch and 2 branch is for PCI bus
I will validate it checking one more time inside my com
i'm not sure

Furthermore the drivers directory on Cnet doesn't mention it
