what kind of errors do you get?? is it upon bootup or if your trying to run ifconfig.. ??

I also have a LNE100TX and am having a helluva time getting it up in Slack 8.0. I also am a newb but after several days, I fear I must come out of the shadows and ask for help. Let me provide some info about what I have done and the errors I am now getting during boot.

netconfig - several times, every way

/etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 - edited to first try DHCP then set static if failed. also ensured that tulip.o is not commented out.

Used Linksys disk ( and instructions ) to compile and install tulip.o and pci-scan.o modules.

It was the rc.inet1 file that made me look back and see what happened during boot. According to it, I should have gotten more than the err 'Resource temp unavail' when trying to config DHCP, it should then have set up staticly or at least attempted to, but it didn't.

SO I 'shft-pgup' to the begining of the boot and watch what happens. ( damn that's kewl )

besides seeing why I don't have sound =], I see this:
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in lib/modules/2.2.19/net/tulip.o

and then a bit farther down:
/lib/modules/2.2.19/net/tulip.o: unresolved symbol
#All begin with the above
_global_cli
pci_drv_unregister
_global_save_flags
_global_restore_flags
pci_drv_register
and then it says insmod /lib/#~/tulip.o failed

As if it wasn't over my head already. I don't know where to go from here.

Any help would be much appreciated.

sorry for the long windedness, but I needed to get it out. thanks.
