Nic Bonding in Ubuntu server 16.04

i recently installed ubuntu server 16.04 following the tutorial on the ubuntu forums.

the only difference in my setup from the tutorial is the bond-mode is 6.

when i reboot the machine it doesn't bring up the bond interface and wont bring it up with a sudo ifup bond0.

i have it setup in previous versions of ubuntu server but cant for the life of me figure out what the issue is.

i have also went as far as to adding a bonding.conf file in the /etc/modprobe.d directory and reboot and nothing.

i have tried this with a unmanaged switch and a managed switch with lacp setup and still nothing.

has anyone had this issue in this version of ubuntu server ?

Run the modprobe bonding to see if that allows you to bring up the interface manually after reboot.
If it does then you just need to add bonding to your modprobe setup.

bonding, nic teaming, server, ubuntu
