NIC


I use redhat linux 5.1.19.6 in my desktop PC.Recently i change my motherbord.Now motherboard brand GIGABYTE.Now i unable to find NIC in my PC.My NIC is built in with motherboard.But from windows OS I get NIC successfully.When i give mii-tool thats result "not found"


Now what can i do?

Hi -

I presume the NIC is there, but simply not configured yet. Or maybe you need to download a new driver, then configure it.

Either way:

1. run "lspci -v". You should find the NIC

2. do a search for the appropriate driver:
a) Do a Google search to find the appropriate Linux driver for your NIC
b) See if it's already available on your system (but not enabled yet)
... or ...
c) Download, build and install the driver
