Hi

I have Red Hat Linux 8.0
I have installed NFS Server and it is running fine
I have made a NFS Share

I am able to mount the share in another linux machine no problem in this

Now I need to access the Share form my Windows machine
i.e. WIndows 2000,XP

Now I go in to my Windows machine and I put \\192.168.1.70

i.e the IP pf the LInux NFS Machine

When I put \\192.168.1.70

It shows me the NFS Shared folder

When I click or map that it ask for authentication
It asks for the user name password

I gave the user as root and its password
but not able to access
and also gave another user of the Linux machine not able to access

Infact I gave the NFS Share folder as anonymous access for all clients

so why it is asking me authentication when i try to access it from my windows
if so what user name and password should I give?

Please help me to sort out this problem

You can't use NFS, you need to use Samba to access a share from Windows to a Linux machine.
