NFS on RH 8 Problems

I'm having some problems with NFS.

i have the exports file on the server set correctly and the client machine can see the remote directory and any files in it. it can edit the files and save them in it. but for some reason it can't copy or write files to it. I'm not sure if its related to size or not. i haven't tried smaller files. but when i run a ps -aux i get a disk wait for the process.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you.
