NFS mounting Error Help


Hi

I have problem in mounting the NFS share

As per the configuration document i did correctly everything is correct

The Portmapper servce is running

But I get the following error

mount:RPC:Port mapper Failure -RPC: Unable to recieve

Can u guide me where are went wrong

Please help me in this

Have a look at your firewall rules. They may be blocking your nfs.

I just had the same problem.. I agree with sabeer its your firewall..

Hi

I have the nfs server in the local intranet
I have not set anything in the firewall
so i am trying to load the nfs share only locally
I have only ISA Server for Web Caching
No other firewall
please suggets me futher what to do

On some distros (especially RedHat) the firewall is configured at install time without you even knowing about it. Try iptables -L. All rules should be set to ACCEPT for no firewall. If they are not then try iptables -F to reset the rules and retry the nfs mount.
