nfs mount over vpn problems

Hi

I have installed openvpn on two machines.

Server = 10.8.0.1 (is a web server)
Client = 10.8.0.6

They can ping each other.

I want to mount a fs from the client but its not happening.

exports file on the Client:
/home/ifpsync webserver.com(rw)
exportfs -a

On the Server:
mkdir /mnt/ifpsync
Then variations of the following:
mount -t nfs 10.8.0.6:/home/ifpsync /mnt/ifpsync

mount: mount to NFS server '10.8.0.6' failed: System Error: No route to host.

iconfig on the client shows
Code:
tun0      Link encap:UNSPEC  HWaddr 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00
          inet addr:10.8.0.6  P-t-P:10.8.0.5  Mask:255.255.255.255
          UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:9 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:9 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
          RX bytes:612 (612.0 b)  TX bytes:780 (780.0 b)
Have I missed some steps?

Many thanks

Kevin

255.255.255.255 doesn't seem like the correct subnet for a 10.x.x.x IP address. Although if that is a problem, ping shouldn't function correctly either.

Sorry that's probably not much help. I'm just sort of thinking out loud at this point.

I never saw that. Well spotted.
Google tells me its the mask for a host-specific route, rather than a subnet. It is literally a point to point network.

Still no closer to solving my problem (

Does nfs mount resolve dns addresses? Also, what does webserver.com resolve to. Make sure that webserver.com isn't the public IP address for the external interface rather than the private 10.8. network. Maybe even try an ip address in /etc/exports.

/home/ifpsync 10.0.8.1(rw,root_squash,sync,no_subtree_check)

Doh!

I guess it would help if nfs was actually running. I *assumed*.

Thanks for help.
