It is not meant to be offensive, but I can change it so it is not offensive.

I have taken mralk3 comment to use a live CD..
I issued a

Code:

 sudo fsck -l

which showed me my drive partitions
mounted the linux partition with

Code:

 sudo mount /dev/sd1a /mnt

removed the -t and rebooted

so the final answer is this is the line you need in fstab

 Whirlwind:/mnt/MyData/public  /mnt/public nfs
