Newbie : QMAIL vqadmin doesn't allow to login
 

Greetings !

NOTE: I am new to qmail but not to linux.

I am following qmailrocks dot org for configuring qmail server, but every thing was
fine till part5(step5) but in part6 (step6)

#htpasswd -bc .htpasswd admin ******

after setting vqadmin admin user passwd

when i tried http://192.168.1.1/cgi-bin/vqadmin/vqadmin.cgi

it asked me for user and password , then i provided admin and *******(password)

but it is not accepting it and it is giving me authentication error

then i also tried to add a new user in vqadmin.acl file and then generaed the password for
this new user, but then also it is not allowing me to enter in vqadmin web interface.


Any help appreciated !

i installed qmail, following the guide at qmailrocks.org, several times. vqadmin always worked for me. but i prefer to use binaries in /home/vpopmail/bin/ directory. u dont have to use vqadmin nor vpopmail. there are enough binary files in that dir.

u can redo vqadmin steps. but firstly check .htaccess file, especially care about the path of htpasswd file. u can also check the apache logs to identify the trouble.
