Newbie needs direction
I'm totaly new to linux. I just bought Suse 8.0 and I want to get it
on line. I have 2 Win XP computers and there networked together. now I want to add the linux computer. Can someone point me in the right direction? Remimber I'm use to Winblows :) :newbie: |
for sharing files between linux and windows, look at samba:
http://www.samba.org/ i know this sounds elitist, but uh, if you wanna use linux, you gotta get used to it (just like you got used to windows). not everything works the same way, but the end result is usually the same, save the crashes and regular hang-ups of windows. |
You probably got some documentation with/on the Suse CD's. Check that out first.
If that's not enough try their website http://www.suse.com/us/private/produ...386/index.html Suse's configuration tool YaST2 is probably all you need to set up networking. |
OK Thanks for the help i'm about to check out both leads thanks agin.
