Newbie mail trouble

I have got sendmail up and running, and I am able to use

mail -s 'testmessage' admin@test.com

to send a mail to my root's mail file.

NOW.... the problem is that I am using a client to try to send email to this address, and it keeps telling me that mail.test.com doesn't exist. The connections are fine, because the same server is hosting apache and that is working.

It's funny, I thought, because I had fixed the DNS nicely with an MX command to register the fact that mail.test.com existed, and it sends mail locally.

the host mail.test.com command does actually say that there is no mail server..... so will I need to declare it in the DNS with IN A, or don't I need to?

Any ideas? (BTW, the client is Win2000)
