Newbie LAN guide
 

I have just installed Red Hat Enterprise on a dedicated box. I want to connect it to the other Windows machines on my network. Is there a guide to tell me how to this? OR pehaps someone could give me a step -by-step explanation.

My router has the hardware firewall disabled.
My windows machine has the software firewall configured to allow the linux ip address to contact it.
I have my network card activated on my RHEL machine and can access the internet.
I have tried to PING the windows machine but get no response.
My thoughts are - Is there a firewall on RHEL that could be blocking the connection?
There is no lokkit installed on my machine.

I would think your windows machine are blocking ICMP port.

How would I resolve that?
How would it be blocking it?
