Newb: Pointing my domain name to my linux server

I have a linux box connected to my linksys router. I have apache1.3.28 running on it, and that's all I know about serving my homepage from that computer.

Can someone direct me through the process of getting requests at port 80 handled by that machine, and getting my domain name to point to that machine.

My IP may be dynamic, I'm not sure... if it is can someone give me a software suggestion or something to take care of that problem?

thanks a lot guys (and girls?)

(btw... First Post!!)

Welcome to LQ.

If you go into your router config you should be able to find options that let you forward port 80 to the ip address of the linux box.

If you have a dynamic IP then take a look at these services:
http://no-ip.com/
http://www.dydns.com/

That's about all there is to it. Let us know how you get on :)
