new with proxy server

my isp has blocked some site and i want to keep an external
build a proxy server that allows me to access 'em.

how can i build it.? what type of proxy would serve my purpose?

Ps: plz don't tell me install squid .. :P something like that..i know squid is proxy server..but wanna know what 'type' of proxy i need .. im trying this first time and heard that many types of proxy out there, transparnet, proxy auth, blah blah...

thnx.

you want a "normal" proxy... like squid's default mode. you want to authenticate? well you go and add authentication if you want. you won't want transparency, that much is for sure.

where are you going to put this proxy? any reason you aren't just using one of the thousands of existing open proxies out there? just google for them.

Dear Acid,

thanks for the reply. yes , I want to put it online with real ip. And I am not useing those free proxy, since, I can't use any website require authentication (like, yahoo mail / any website that requires user/password to permit access)

I want my own proxy let me to use yahoo mail as well.

free public proxies do not require authentication... i really think you should just use existing ones.
