I recently switched from SuSE 7.1 to Red Hat 7.3 with KDE 3.0 and I'm having some difficulty. I'll try to explain it as best I can.

1. I have 2 Hard Drives in my system, one has Windows 2000, the other Linux. I can boot from either drive by manipulating the CMOS. Under SuSE, when I started the system and went into the KDE, it would automatically put and Icon on the desktop for the Windows drive (read only). I can't seem to do this now, It shows 'Mount Point Swap does not exist'. What am I doing wrong?

2. How can I change the refresh rate of my monitor? It is far too low now and it's killing my eyes. In SuSE I could use Sax, but I haven't seen that in Red Hat.

3. How can I set the bootloader up? I used Lilo with the SuSE and it worked very well, but I've tried Lilo and GRUB with Red Hat and neither work properly. If I select Windows from the bootloader nothing happens.

I apologize for being long winded. Other than these minor issues I can only saw 'WOW, I'll never use Windows again!'

I appreciate any help.

1 in your /etc/fstab file add a line like

/dev/hda1 /mnt/windows vfat user,umask=000 0 0

Where /dev/hda1 is your winpartition
/mnt/windows = your mount point on your rh system create it if it is not there.

vfat is your filesystem type (if it is NTFS) i do not know how you can mout that this only works with fat filesystems

2
Edit the file /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

3 i do not know i had never had problems with my bootloaders
