Question New Project: Linux, USB Sat link, and Network

I am making the transition from Win to Linux, but am still fairly new to Linux. I have RH 7.2 and Mandrake 8.1 that I am evaluating. I need to set up my network for (1)local access...will use samba to connect the wife's Win machine. (2)Must connect to Internet using demand dialup (to the ISP), and use 1-way sat for d/l path. The sat link is from DirecPC, and I understand there are a couple of programs available that works with their dish.
(3) I would like to combine router/firewall, dialup, and sat link in a single machine.

Does anyone know if someone might have a setup similar to this I could ask questions of??
