new linux user can decide between windows 2000 and linux

Ok well I work for a company we need to setup two dns servers just for the intranet but use them for internet surfing as well. Since 2000 windows goes for almost 1,000 a pop we are looking into cheaper ways to have dns. I've only setup linux once in my entire life, but I think I remember dns server being an option ( I was using Redhat 7.1). So how hard would it be for me to setup a linux dns server, basiclly we just want it to pull the data from the dns server that at&t gave us with our t-1. thanks for your help.

These caching DNS proxies look easy to set up and should serve your needs: http://freshmeat.net/search/?site=Fr...ction=projects
