netzero + windows + ubuntu

i have: 1 wind xp with two 56k pci modems, & 1 ubuntu 9.04 with 1 pci 56k modem....i current not able to obtain something better than dial up lol....and not able to use the netzero software on ubuntu...did some research and can download netzero.deb even if i could put it on a usb or rom broke...and i have no usb if im connected to the Internet on my win box and go and obtain phone cord and connect it from my ubuntu to the 2nd 56k modem on my win box will it connect to the Internet? without any installations on the ubuntu box?
