networking xp and linux, faq?
Total newbie to the world of linux networking. Have an smc home router using dhcp connected to broadband, can access the broadband with the linux box. XP PC also connected to the home router, it can connect as well to broadband. Used samba to create (i think) a share on my linux box for the cd writer and home directory. Cannot access the linux share from the XP machine.
Using Redhat 9 distro Is there an FAQ maintained anywhere on this subject as I will have endless questions and I don't want the community going over things with me if I can find them in an faq. Otherwhise, help please!! Thank you :study: |
Reach linux share from windows?
I didnt think it was possible only the other way around..... |
I can reach my Linux server from all of my WIndows boxes. It just takes a while to get the smb.conf file set up correctly. Make sure you restart smb and nmb after you get the file created.
