Networking WinXP with Fedora Linux (HELP!!!)

i was wondering if anyone could help me setup a network i have got a PC with WinXP and a Laptop with Fedora linux and i wont to create a network. i no nothing about networking with linux and i am very new to linux so if anyone could help then that would be great

what you want is samba (if you want to be able to share files between the windows and linux machines). samba should be on your distro cds, and its fairly easy to set up, if you only want to do basic file-sharing. Have a look at http://www.linux.ie/articles/tutorials/samba.php

if you have a windows fs on your machine it will bee mounted and you will have a ro access to this partition. Ifg you have sevaral machines, you have to export them and mount mount them via nfs or you use same then the unixsystem work like a client in the win-network
