Networking WIn WS, Linux WS with Windows/Linux Server

Hello,

I am planning to network 3 workstation 1 or 2 of them being Linux with a server (not sure what I will use for server, Linux or Windows, I'll probably switch between then two to try them both out). I will be doing this for my MCSE home lab so I can practice. So, I'm just looking for some information on this.

I'm guessing if I have Samba installed on the Linux WS then it should communicate pretty easily.

If I use a Windows Server 2003 would I be able to "control" the linux workstations for example with active directory, remote access, remote login (a user can login in whichever computer and see his files).

I heard some blabber about OpenADPL (can't remembber then name) which is like Windows Server 2k3 except its for Linux...

I really can't ask the right questions because I'm pretty new to this and never set up a mixed network before, information on this will be great.

Thank you!

There's lots of documentation on Linux/AD integration. Google is your friend.
