Networking Ubuntu on VirtualBox on Vista
I've got a factory install of Vista Home Premium (32 bit) on an AMD64 box, and VirtualBox running on that. When I boot a Ubuntu 7.10 CD, it does not automatically have network access.
I've tried several combinations of virtual NICs in virtualbox, and within Ubuntu I've tried roaming (whatever that is), static IP, and DHCP. Ubuntu seems to find the NICs okay, but I cannot ping anything.
The physical NIC is a Linksys Wireless-G card, and it's on a DHCP enabled LAN. The router itself has a static lan-facing IP.
What configurations have worked for people running ubuntu on vbox on vista?
Do I have to enable ICS or the like on the host (vista) machine?
