There's really very little Linux-specific about networking; the network protocol is IPv4 or in some cases IPv6, with mostly Ethernet or 802.11[alphabet soup] as the underlying layer 2 technology. Are you familiar with these protocols and technologies?
Configuration issues (address assignment, network daemons, firewall rulesets, policy routing etc.) are not so much Linux-specific as distribution-specific, so you should check the documentation for your distribution of choice.
