Networking noobie setup question

I've always used the 192.168.1.x ip address range for my private network so I kinda understand how to figure out the subnet and broadcast numbers.

Now, I have to use the 10.0.0.x ip address range for a new private network. Here's what I think the settings are for lets say, HostA...

HostA:
IP Address: 10.0.0.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Broadcast: 10.0.0.255
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 <-- the router

Am I correct here? Is the subnet and the Broadcast setup to work correctly using the 10.0.0.x IP range? I'm a network noob so go easy.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Do a Google search for IP calculator.
