Question Networking Linux and Win98

Comcast is installing a cable modem at my house today on my Win98 machine. I am running RedHat 7.0 on another box. What would you recommend for me to get so they can both share the same connection?
Thanks.
Travis

1) rip the modem out, and try and set it up on the linux box, then learn about ip masquarading

2) use winroute under windows to share the connection. this si better that a windows proxy (assuming you don't need proxy capabilities...) as it routes via your windows machine, so it's easier and faster

Cool Yes Yes... acid is right

Yes Yes... acid is right ... connect the modem to linux \ using eth1 and set up eth0 for the inside network (use a switch)
then use ipchains (ip MASQ) to allow through-put for the win box.

What type of router and firewall would you recommend for this based on performance, reliability, cost, and ease of use?

well... Linux IS a firewall and router... and it's free.... gets my vote for a fairly anonymous home network. if you happen to live in the pentagon then that's probably not good enough.. but at a normal house. cheap, and effective
