can someone tell me in detail how i go about setting up my networking i have one server and 5 computers (one in each room) the internet is connected to the server thru a cable modem (T1) and the 5 others are hooked into a router and the router is connected to the server all 5 computers (dumb terms) get the internet but i cant get them so that each computer can get into each other to view transfer or anything that the other computers have on them. i just want to be able to view what each computer and user has on there machine
all computers have mandriva kernels and kde desktops
To set this up, you have to have file sharing. One solution is to use cifs or smb sharing, which is handled by Samba. If you search google for it, you will find loads of info on setting this up.
