Network User profiles

I am wondering if it is possible to set up a network so that the user list is on one server, and /home is mapped to a network drive. The goal here is to be able to add a user from any computer and the changes are reflected on each computer on the network immediately.

I think I found something that will allow me to map /home to a network folder, but as far as the user list, I don't know.
