Network too slow

I don't know why this is happening... at my home.. all my computers are connected to a router (an access point also connects to this router to bring wireless connectivity). In this way, all my computers connect to the internet.

However, this Toshiba Satellite I've got connects too slowly to the internet. I don't know what's wrong. If I want a web page to be displayed, it takes lots of time "Connecting..." after that... it starts normally.

Same thing happens when I want to ping somewhere. If you say something like "ping www.google.com", it detects the IP quickly and then it takes like 30 seconds to get the first response. I ran some bandwith tests and my ADSL speed is detected normally.

I have tried both with the cable and with the wireless card. I'm not sure what's wrong. Could anyone possibly tell me what I should be doing?

if lsmod shows
ipv6 loaded
disable it with
alias net-pf-10 off
in /etc/modprobe.conf

perhaps that will help

What's wrong with ipv6? I did a lsmod and it's actually there.. but why is that a problem? I'm gonna try to unload that module in a sec
thanks:

Well.. I'm not sure what I did... I removed some networking modules and recompiled the kernel.. everything was working since then Thank you anyway.
