Unhappy Network settings on Mandriva 2006

Hi all!
I'm quite new to Linux and need your help.
I have a Linux machine inside a LAN. One PC (Windows 2000 or hardware router) has an internet connection and successfully shares it with others, thus was set to 192.168.0.1
I set the Linux machine to have 192.168.0.2, NetMask to 255.255.255.0, GateWay to 192.168.0.1, network restart but it does not connect to net...
When i type ifconf eth0 it says:
Code:
eth0 Link addr: 192.168.0.2 Bcast: 192.168.0.255
...
Collisions: 0 txqueuelen: 1000
RX bytes: 0 (0.0b) TX bytes: 21312 (20KiB)
So it looks like the card is working OK, but it does not get to gateway. Any help?

Well, not really. I use Mandriva Control Center for this.
But maybe it would be better to use Console. What command would you suggest?
