Network routing of Internet

Hi all,

Friends cable connection. two nic cards one with modem connected to it so is setup via DHCP. Gets assigned dynamically

2nd nic set with static 192.*.*.* connected to switch with other machine, again with static 192's attached. Internal networking is fine but cant get get the two nics in the Linux machine (Redhat 9.0) to route internal. Internet works on this machine fine

I think what you're trying to say is that the two interfaces won't route packets to each other? You need to have ip_forward enabled in the kernel to act as a router. A better approach (that wouldn't allow source routing) would be to use iptables to NAT the interfaces.
