network printing in linux

Hey guys i just got a HP LJ 4050 on my network and its ip address is 192.168.0.100 and I am having a problem trying to print to it from the command line. I think i might be writing the command wrong but this is what I did.
lp -h 192.168.0.100 hd.txt

when i do this i get a error that says 'scheduler not responding!'
I am sure I am writing this command wrong but I am not sure can some one help me out?

Are you running CUPS? I've found that as a general rule the easiest way to get stuff like this set up is to use CUPS. There's a Web based graphical config tool it runs so if you go to http://localhost:631 it will walk you through the setup. Some distros have their own setup tools as well.
