Network Printer Setup on Slackware 9.1

I 'm having difficulty printing to a Lexmark Optra S 1855 printer that is networked to my computer. I have the IP address to the printer and I can ping it fine. I'm basically just asking the general procedure for installing a printer on Slackware 9.1. I use the BlackBox desktop, but I have access to KDE if that makes any difference. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Welcome to LQ!

Installed mine with CUPS. I think the instructions at Linux Printing are sufficient.
