Network Manager keeps asking for Passphrase in XFce
This doesn't happen when I log in using KDE as the wm.
ie, KDE recognises the network and applies the correct WPA passphrase.
When I log in with KDE the network just connects.
When I log in with Xfce the network asks me for the WPA password.
AFter I put in the passphrase the network connects, but if I log in again, I'm asked for the password all over again. By now I've memorised it, so it's not such a big deal, but it's still a bit of a pain.
Distro: Slackware 14.

I have a similar problem with xfce on OpenSUSE. It doesn't ask for the key when logging into the DE initially, it just connects without issue, but if I cycle the wifi off and on with the hard switch on the laptop, or if I cycle power on the wifi router, once it comes back up and the distro detects the network, it asks for the key and the root password before it will connect. Very odd since it will connect without a problem when first booting up and logging in, but it won't connect without a key and root password when the network comes up after I'm already logged in.

There's no doubt in my mind that it's a permissions thing (in my case, anyway).
For some reason the XFce login doesn't have access to the keyring.
If I try to edit the wireless connections through the nm-applet, things like the 'Available to All Users' Checkbox is greyed out.

I am unable to run the nm-applet as root.

Might be symptomatic of the same problem?
