Network intermittent disconnect problem

I have been stuck at this problem for a number of days, and running out all the possibilities I can think and all the internet resources I googled. I do hope I can see a miracle from this forum helps me settle this issue.

I am within a medium size corporate and running this DELL precision T6710 on linux debian wheezy. The problem is the network is intermittent disconnected somehow with no reason I can think about. The connected and disconnected time is totally random, from a few minutes to several hours. Typically I use ssh to connect from other machines. Sometime a session can last overnight, but sometime only a few minutes. When lost connection, it also depends on the its mood, I may not able to connect to it just a few minutes or a few hours. This is the phenomenon, now I give the detailed information.

First of all, I am running linux debian, `uname -a` outputs:
Quote:
Linux ARI4-server 3.2.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.2.57-3+deb7u1 x86_64 GNU/Linux
lspci outputs:

...
Well, I am aware of network card intel 82579LM has an issue with network driver, therefore I have download the latest network driver e1000e.3.0.4.1 which was said fixed the problem.

I followed the suggestions some suggestion from some experienced users, let the network-manager taken over control. This is my /etc/network/interfaces:

Quote:
# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
and /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf
Quote:
[main]
plugins=ifupdown,keyfile

[ifupdown]
managed=true
And ifconfig:

Can we see the output of 'mii-tool eth0'?

What kind of switch are you plugged into?

It may be an ethernet media autonegotiation issue.

hi foodown, thanks for pointing.
The mii-tool -v output is

Did you see anything unusual?

And its very unlikely the switch problem. As I said, we are a medium size company, hundred s of machines are connected, no similar situations are reported.
