Unhappy network interface card details program


hi,
i am a newbie to networking and linux , i want to write a c program
for displaying information of network interface card like broadcast,netmask,nameof interface etc.

Any help on this is appreciable.

Do these things:
  1. Your distribution of Linux should make available to you the source code for all network utilities it puts on your system. Play around with them (ifconfig comes to mind, though there may be others), and look at the source code for them.
  2. Get a copy of UNIX Network Programming, by W. Richard Stevens of happy memory, Bill Fenner, and Andrew M. Rudoff. Study it assiduously.
For best results, don't do just one of these. Do both of them.
