Network Install Server

I'm trying to create an Network install server. I need dhcp to give the pc an ip and find the boot image to install.

Does any one know how to create a network installation server?

Please help!!

Simply setup a Linux machine running whichever distro you require and ensure you install the DHCP service to provide IP addresses to machines connecting to it. You then create a folder on the hard drive which you share out using NFS that includes the installation files copied from your distro CD's. Most distros have exact instructions as to the structure of the file layouts. When you then boot your client, you choose network install and enter the IP address of your server and the network share name. If you're wanting to have the machines boot without any floppy disks or CD's, you need PXE-compliant network cards in your machines to automatically search for the server, but I don't know how you would configure a Linux server to respond to this method of install.

I have a server running with my distro. Shared my folder.

The reason for the network install server is: ( I want to run Fedora Core 4 on my laptop)
I can boot of the dvd, but when it comes to the install method i just hit enter. It does it thing and then a Kernal panic error comes up.

I cant even select linux askmethod at the boot screen. Does the same.

I want to see if i can create an install server to help me.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks
