network down after reboot

after i reboot my computer, sometimes the network is down. the only way i have figured out to get it back up, is by using YaST and go to the network and just open the settings for the network adapter, and then finish it without changing anything. in that way YaST thinks something has changed and restarts the network, and i can again suft the net.

does anyone have any suggestion to how i can prevent the network from going down each time i reboot?

and/or does anyone know a command i can use to restart my adapter from shell/konsole?

thanks!
