Network crashing when transfering files with Samba

I have Ubuntu 14.04 Server Edition with latest updates.

For some reason it crashes network when transferring large files over Samba (gigabit network).

I have to use sudo ifdown eth0 && sudo ifup eth0 to restart.

Anybody know why this happens and how to troubleshoot?

Have you checked the MTU size on both ends?
