Unhappy Network connection suddenly died

My Mandrake 9.2 box was up and running great since 9.2 came out (maybe 3 months). All of a sudden it just stopped working and wouldn't connect to the network. So far as I can tell no settings have changed.

The box is functioning as a firewall and router behind another firewall and router. The same settings that would bring up eth0 and eth1 just show no ip address. Iptables is listed as not running in services and won't start.

I also tried resetting the network configuration, swapping network cards, and playing with the settings. Still no dice.

What do I have to do to figure out how to get my box running again?

Thank you in advance,

Dan
