Network Card Problem

I'm currently using an IC Plus IP1000 Family Gigabit Ethernet Adaptor card, and linux does not detect it. I tried a few distros such as kubuntu, pclinuxos, knoppix and mepis and they all can't connect to the internet. I tried using the other pc via mepis' live cd and the internet works. Is there a way to make my network card work?

It's likely that there is no support in the kernel for that card at the present time since all distros fail to detect it. I think I found a linux driver for it here:

You would need the 2.09e one. The other, perhaps easier, option is to just pick up another compatible nic that the kernel supports.
