I recently installed Redhat 8.0 on my laptop (NEC Versa SX) and everything seems to be working fine with one problem, every third or fourth time I boot the system seems to load fine, it opens my network connection, opens the ethernet port and loads the pcmcia drivers, only no network connection comes up. The network card I'm using is a xircom pcmcia credit card 10/100 nic 56k modem combo and its never given me any problems before, so I think it must be linux, rebooting usually fixes the problem so its not critical, just kind of annoying, anyway thanks for your help.

Sounds like a timing issue. Instead of rebooting, try "service network restart" next time and see if that fixes it.
