Every time I try to connect to my samba server from a Windows 98 box, I get a "network busy" message in Network Neighborhood. Not sure were to go from here only had Linux a short time.
Thanks for any help |
This is most likely a name resolution issue. I have a few questions/suggestions. First, make sure the first line of /etc/hosts reads
"127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain". Also make sure you can ping localhost. Then verify that the win98 box is in /etc/hosts and is pingable by name. You may also want to verify the line "name resolve order = lmhosts host wins bcast" is your smb.conf file. If you are still having problems please post the results of the above along with a little more info about your setup (ie. Is DNS DHCP?, network setting, etc). |
