Hello everyone,

I am currently running RH8 on P4 1.70 Mhz 256 MB of Ram on a 60 GB HD.I would like to connect my Linux box to our Windows network. Here are my problems:

1- i have installed Samba and trying to configure it. Is it after being successfull that i could see the "Network Neighborhood or My network places version Linux" ?

2- on our network, all Nics run at 10Mbps.I have a 100Mbps Nic that i have to force using
mii-tool -F 10baseT-FD eth0 any time i put the box on.How can i go around this?

I would appreciate any help.

put the command you need to set the speed into your /etc/rc.local file; that way it's run every time your machine starts, after all the other you don't have to do it manually every time
