Those rules not only seem complicated, they seem to contradict each other. They are also pretty confusing. Do you know what all that stuff means?

They're probably all screwed up. You should learn about iptables and create your own rules. If you're aprehensive about getting rid of your current rules you can save them using iptables-save. The syntax is iptables-save > /pathname/filename, then run the command iptables -F to remove all your current rules, then try accessing your box, I bet you'll access it fine. If removing the firewall rules fixes your problem you should prevent the rules from being restored as they would be when you rebooted. There's a file in /etc/sysconfig named iptables that contains the rules that would restore the ones you have now, so you should rename the file or move it to keep the rules from being restored on a reboot (but you should get to work on creating new ones right away). You can find an iptables how-to here.
Let us know how it goes.

I would agree. Try to simplify them (or nick sombody elses firewall script and modify it )

You can also save your iptables values to the default file (/etc/sysconfig/iptables) that is read on boot by doing:
service iptables save
