Netgear Wg511T Freezes Suse 10...
Having a bit of a problem with SUSE 10
on a Packard Bell Easynote H5 laptop and a Netgear WG511T PCMCIA network card. The card works fine under WinBlows, but causes freezes in Suse. If the card is in on boot there will be a freeze somewhere in the latter stages of start up (but not always in a consistent place) If I leave the card out, boot and then insert the card SUSE just freezes completely, which is instantly fixed by removing the card again. Understand that this card uses Atheros drivers which are part of the Non-GPL Kernal Module so I have that module installed. Can still find no mention of Atheros boards, and besides which it wouldn't be of any use either if the card just freezes SUSE. Tried booting with Knoppix which detects the card, but has no drivers for it. It does not, however, freeze the machine under Knoppix. Any ideas ???? |
There is a writeup about this card at;

Thanks matey.
Was under the impression that the MadWifi Drivers were installed by default under SUSE 10 ? Not sure if it explains the freezing or not ? |
