Netgear router hangs and drops internet connection on Ubuntu (Resolved)
edit: seem to have fixed it by eraesing all my settings with a hard reset. Ah well. Guess it was the router. IF a mod would care to delete this? Thank you everyone who took the time to read this.
I have a Netgear MR814 v3 router and it works when I use it under windows. It's stable and it stays up all the time. However, when I try using it on my linux (ubuntu) computer it hangs and drops the internet a few minutes after it's connected. To get it working I have to unplug it and plug it back in. It used to work fine but something (maybe an os upgrade, maybe hardware failure?) has caused this problem. I need to get it working as there are other computers connected wirelessly throughout my house that need to get the signal. There are clues indicating it's a hardware problem and clues indicating it's a software problem. The firmware as far as I can tell is up to date. Thank you very much Harrison |
thank you for marking your post resolved. I would bet it won't be deleted, but may serve to help other with the same problem, even though the solution may have seemed to simple and self-explanitory to you.
