Netgear FA310TX problem in Slack 9.0

I just finished recompiling my kernel to 2.6.7. I also installed a Netgear
FA310TX ethernet card. When I recompiled, I was sure to enable the module
8139too, but when I booted, it says eth0 not found, so I tried eth1, which
was not found. Does anyone know what I need to go to get it working?
