netconfig package flakey?
 

Hi all,

so here's the situation. We typically use netconfig to reconfigure a host's tcp/ip settings prior to deploying the unit. We build the unit with DHCP and then before deploying, we run netconfig to change the settings.

We have noticed that netconfig works fine for changing the IP address, mask and gateway, but when going from DHCP to static, the nameserver does not get updated in /etc/resolv.conf. Even after reboot. However, if we run netconfig a second time, then the change seems to occur.

Anyone else experience this unreliability in netconfig? Who maintains the package? Is there a mailing list for it?

Oh, and the units run fedora 4, no x, just command line.
